LIPON-250 (alpha-lipoic acid 250 mg) 60 plant-based capsules

Lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant that is both water- and fat-soluble. As a result, it works at both intra- and extracellular level. It is part of the multi-enzyme complex containing thiamine which catalyses the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate and alpha-ketoglutarate into acetyl-coenzyme A and succinyl-coenzyme A, key components in the citric acid cycle. It plays an important part in the clearance of lactic acid and pyruvic acid and is also an important biocatalyst. It is an effective detoxification agent.

Lipoic acid is also highly effective in reducing oxidised vitamin C and E and protects carotenoids against oxidation. Additionally, lipoic acid is an effective combatant against the oxidation of LDL cholesterol and can even reduce oxidised cholesterol. Lipoic acid has a beneficial effect on diabetes, neuropathies, the immune system and atherosclerosis.

This product is lactose-free, gluten-free and contains no preservatives, colouring agents or artificial flavouring.

Dosage:

1 - 2 capsules a day, or as prescribed.
