L-TAURINE 500 mg + B6 - 100 plant-based capsules

Taurine is formed in the body from methionine or cysteine, primarily in the liver. It is inhibited by oestradiol. It bonds to bile acids to maintain the solubility of fats and cholesterol, thereby reducing the possibility of cholestasis.

Taurine deficiency in young people causes a predisposition for epilepsy and taurine is used to treat this. It is also a neurotransmitter.

There is a direct connection with low concentrations of zinc in the serum: the concentration of taurine in the serum will rise if the concentration of zinc is low, which results in low concentrations of taurine in the brain, increasing the chances of an attack. Taurine has a beneficial effect on potassium loss in the heart muscle and an influence on sugar levels in the heart muscle.

Taurine may possibly increase the IQ of children with Down’s syndrome, when taken in combination with other nutrients.
